Mid-Week Update: William Howard Taft and More…

A Week for the President and Chief Justice

This week the Marx Law Library joins the College of Law in saluting William Howard Taft, a graduate of the Cincinnati College Law School, dean of the school when it merged with the University of Cincinnati, and the only individual to serve as both President and Chief Justice of the United States. Please stop by the library’s entrance to view our Taft display, and learn more about him at our library guide on Taft Week.

Microfiche Conversion Project: Making Legal Information More Readily Available

Akram Pari, the library’s Bibliographic Services and Special Collections Librarian, has achieved a milestone in converting microformat materials to online access. “Conversion” in this sense means replacement. Akram identifies the materials we hold in microformat (e.g. microfiche cards, microfilm rolls) and seeks commercially or publicly available digital versions of the same items. Once we acquire a license to the online versions, she adds a record to our online catalog so that you can find the information. Read more about Akram’s work on the College of Law website.
