Welcome back returning 2L and 3L students. We missed you during the summer, though we admit we do like taking a vacation now and then. (Our vacations do not last the whole summer.) With apologies to David Bowie, here are some changes in the library that you should note.
West Academic Student Study Aid Subscription
Thanks to the subscription we purchased in August, you now have 24/7 online access to a host of West Academic Study Aid resources. These include the Nutshell, Sum & Substance, and Gilbert Summaries series, and many more! Before you can use the sets, you need to register as a new user by logging into the Westlaw lawschool site, selecting the photo above the “Study Aids Subscription” caption, and following the prompts to create your account for the Study Aids. Once you’ve created the account, you can directly login to the Study Aids Subscription site.
Open Reserves
Many of the printed study aids that were kept on reserve behind the circulation desk have been moved into open shelving in the Reference 2 stacks, adjacent to C.J.S.. These materials are now available to you 24/7 for use within the library. Please place the materials on the shelving cart at the front of the stack when you are finished using them. Course reserves will remain behind the circulation desk and will need to be charged out for use in the library.
Change in Weekend Operating Hours
The library will close, i.e., staff will not be present, at 5 P.M. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of each week. Students, staff, and faculty retain 24/7 access to all public areas of the library. The library will continue to close at 10 P.M. on Monday through Thursday.
