Mark spoke at various universities across Ohio with several hundred in attendance at each event.  Mark spoke with exonerees Ricky Jackson and Dean Gillispie at Ohio University, with exonerees Robert McClendon and Dean Gillispie at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, and with Ricky Jackson at John Carroll University in Cleveland.  Mark and Ricky also spoke to an American Constitution Society luncheon in Cleveland.

The OIP’s November exoneration of Ricky Jackson continued to receive worldwide press through the winter.

In January, Mark participated as second-chair to OIP staff attorney Brian Howe in the evidentiary hearing of two men in Cleveland who were wrongfully convicted and served 18 years in prison for a murder they did not commit.  In March, the judge threw out the convictions and all 3 clients were released from prison.

Mark’s book, tentatively titled Deconstructing Wrongful Convictions:  How Cracks in the Human Psyche Cause Tragic Injustices, was accepted for publication by the University of California Press.
