  • Professor Mark Godsey was recently appointed by Supreme Court of Ohio Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor to the Task Force to Examine Improvements to the Ohio Grand Jury System.   • Professor Mark Godsey will speak at the European Innocence Conference in Prague on June 16-17, 2016. Professor Godsey will be speaking at the conference as the only non-European that has been invited to be on the EIN board.
  • Professor Mark Godsey spoke at a symposium on February 3, 2016, at the University of West Virginia College of Law on the psychology of wrongful convictions.
  • In April, 2016, Professor Mark Godsey, with the Ohio Innocence Project, hosted a state-wide tour of the new documentary film, The Syndrome, outlining the problems with the medical theory Shaken Baby Syndrome, which has caused hundreds of wrongful convictions. The film was screened at six undergraduate campuses that have chapters of OIP-u, the undergraduate support and awareness network that the OIP has created within Ohio. After the screenings, the filmmaker and one of the exonerees participated in a panel discussion.
  • In April, 2016, Professor Mark Godsey spoke with exoneree, Raymond Towler, at the Inns of Court in Akron, Ohio on the Innocence Movement.
  • On April 5, 2016, Professor Mark Godsey spoke at the Ohio Innocence Project’s first annual fundraising breakfast at the Hyatt in downtown Cincinnati, which raised nearly $200,000 for OIP.
