Janet’s new article is now in print: G Forces:  Gideon v. Wainwright and Matthew Adler’s Move Beyond Cost-Benefit Analysis, 11 Seattle J. Soc. J. 1025 (2013).

Janet was an invited panelist at the American Bar Association midyear meeting in Chicago, where her topic was Culture and Resistance.  Janet’s remarks, which have been incorporated into the current draft of The Duty to Communicate, focused on recent state court cases blending rules of ethics with Sixth Amendment doctrine to forge a prospective, ex ante ground for indigent defense lawyers to challenge excessive workloads.

On March 28, Janet presented Survivor: Habeas in 30 Minutes by invitation at the Cincinnati Bar Association Appellate Division’s annual Continuous Legal Education conference.

On March 31 Janet presented on the topic of preserving issues for appellate review at a class on public defense at the University of Dayton College of Law.
