Michael presented The Solicitor General Unbound: Amicus Curiae Activism and Deference in the Supreme Court on June 13 as part of UC Law’s Summer 2012 Faculty Workshop Series.

Sandra’s article, “The Tort Label,” was one of four papers selected for the “Seton Hall Employment and Labor Law Scholars’ Forum.”

Sandra’s article, Discrimination Statutes, the Common Law and Proximate Cause, 2013 Ill. L. Rev. 1, was featured on Jotwell and her article, Revitalizing State Discrimination Law, 19 Geo. Mason L. Rev. ___ (forthcoming 2012), was listed as a recommended read on Larry Solum’s Legal Theory Blog.

Sandra accepted an invitation to speak at “Minding the Gap: Reflections on the Achievement Gap Between Men and Women in the Workplace in 2013” at Florida International University College of Law in March of 2013.

Sandra served as a contributing editor for the 2012 editions or updates of the following treatises published by the American Bar Association:

Susan M. Boland / Summer 2012

Susan was reappointed to a three-year term as an Associate Librarian.  Congratulations to Susan on her well-deserved reappointment!

Susan was elected a Faculty Senate representative to the Faculty Development Council (FDC). The charge of the FDC is to distribute faculty development funds defined under Article 24 and the Memorandum of Understanding (M.5) in the Collective Bargaining agreement between UC and the AAUP.

Susan also gave a CLE, “Social Networking for Litigation Research,” at the Hamilton County Law Library on August 2.

Susan attended the American Association of Law Libraries Conference in Boston, July 21-25.

Ronald E. Jones / Summer 2012

Ron was elected the Faculty Senate Representative to the Environmental Oversight Committee.  The joint Administration/Faculty Environmental Oversight Committee consists of four administrators appointed by the President and four Bargaining Unit members appointed by the Faculty Senate. This Committee is charged with oversight of the University’s efforts in removing hazardous and unhealthy conditions from the work environment.
